The “Manchalengkha Dance Club” is a platform for our young dance enthusiasts to learn and hone their dancing skills and express themselves through the beautiful art form of dance. This club was initiated in January 2023 in keeping with the demand of the students as well as dance enthusiasts among the faculty members. The club conducts dance classes for the students. Professional dance trainers are invited to conduct the dance training.
Objectives of the Dance Club:
- To provide training to develop the dancing skills of the students.
- To organize and participate in institutional-level dance programmes.
- To encourage and enable students to participate in state, national and university-level dance competitions and programmes.
- To bring social and political awareness among the students and society through the medium of dance.
- To preserve, protect and disseminate the classical and folk-dance forms and the knowledge therein.
Activities of the Dance Club:
- To conduct training sessions of the First Year/Semester students during Student Induction Programme.
- To conduct regular practice for student members.
- To ensure participation of individual or group(s) in university, state and national level competitions.
- To present a thematic group performance during College Week.
- To organise a competition or performance on International Dance Day (April 29).
