Department of Education and IQAC of Bikali College launched the Mental Health and Well-being Club in the college on 24/7/2023 to address the growing need for mental health support and well-being among students, teachers & non-teaching staff of Bikali College. This club aims to create a safe and inclusive space for students to come together, share their experiences, and learn practical strategies for maintaining sound mental health as well as to organize different programs as preventive measures for mental health for students, teachers & non-teaching staff.
Vision
- To create a college community that prioritizes mental health and well-being, fostering an environment where all personnel feel supported, empowered, and resilient.
Mission
- To raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigmas, and promote acceptance within the college community.
- To provide a safe and inclusive space for students to share their experiences, seek support, and develop skills to enhance their mental well-being.
- To collaborate with mental health professionals, counsellors, and other relevant organizations to ensure access to specialized support and referral services when needed.
- To evaluate our programs and initiatives, seeking feedback from students and adapting our strategies to better meet their evolving mental health needs.
Objectives
- To offer a supportive and non-judgmental environment where students can freely discuss their mental health concerns, seek guidance, and offer support to one another.
- To raise awareness about mental health issues, disseminate accurate information, and promote mental health literacy among the student body.
- To focus on equipping students with tools and techniques to enhance their emotional well-being, build resilience, and develop effective self-care practices.
- To work closely with mental health professionals and counsellors to provide access to resources, facilitate referrals, and organize sessions that address specific mental health concerns.
- To engage in different activities that promote mental health advocacy, challenge stigmas surrounding mental health, and encourage open dialogue on campus.
