Bikali College was established in 1982 only with the Arts Stream and Commerce and Science Stream has also opened in the same college. The department of Bodo as MIL was introduced at the intermediate level (HS level) and 1990 in TDC (BA) level. Since then, a sufficient number of students have been produced for further higher education through this department, again Elective Bodo (BSL) has also been introduced under the same department since 1999- 2000. In response to the demand of the student and guardian the Major Course in Bodo has also been introduced in the 2006-2007 academic session, the college also got the govt concurrence in degree level for Bodo MIL, TDC- PT-1 on dated 30 th August 2001 and TDCPT-II on dated 4 th Dec.2008.
