The Department of English, Bikali College, Dhupdhara was established in April, 1982, the same year as of establishment of the college. Initially there was only one part time lecturer, Mr. Gopal Roy, who was also a lecturer of Dhudhnoi College, Dhudhnoi. Later the following lecturers served the college during different periods. Mr. Dilip Das, Mr. Madan Chandra Deka, Mrs. Mallika Goswami , Mr. Swapan Sarkar, Sharmila Roy , Sanjiv Kr. Thakur, Sudhanshu M Das, Santosh Kr. Mishra, SubhasishChatterjee, Deba Kr. Das, Utpal Deka, Late Jakirul Islam Majumdar, Abdul Jubbar, Harish Kalita were all once part of the Department. Apart from these many lecturers worked on contractual basis from time to time. At present , Rajlakshmi Hazarika, HOD an Associate Professor, Dr. Monalisha Roychaudhury, Associate Professor, Prasanta Pathak, Assistant Professor is working against sanctioned post and Anudev Boro, Hridoymon Sutradhar and Preeti Basumatary in Contractual basis.
