Bikali College was brought under deficit system by the Government of Assam in the
year 1992.

Keeping in mind the importance, necessity and scope of the subject
the honourable Governing Body (GB) of Bikali College resolved to open mathematics in the
college from the year 1995. The department got government concurrence in the year 2000.  The
Govt. of Assam sanctioned one post in 2014 and  another post in 2018. Now, the department has 2 (two) sanctioned
post with the two faculty members.
The department offers  under graduate (UG) regular course in mathematics. Dr. Abdul Wahed, HoD, is the founder teacher of the department. He completed his
M.Sc degree in Mathematics under Gauhati University. In 1995 he joined as a faculty
member of the department. He
completed his Ph. D. degree from Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh in 2018. He
has ten research paper publications in ISSN journals and ISBN books and one in UGC
care listed Journal. In 2022 he published his first book “Number Systems and Their
Operations”
Mrs.JeutyTalukdar is another faculty member of the department. She completed her
M.Sc. degree in mathematics under Gauhati University in 1999. She joined as a faculty
members in this department in 2000. She
completed B. Ed degree in 2009 and cleared UGC NET in Population Studies in 2011. She has seven
research paper publications in ISSN journals and ISBN books.
