The department of Botany of the college was started in the year 2015. At the beginning, the department has offered only higher secondary classes . In the year 2017 the department got Gauhati University permission and affiliation, and the department has started degree courses(major). The department follows the syllabus as given in the prescribed curriculum of Gauhati University (GU). The department has highly dedicated faculties and other non-teaching staffs. The main trust area of teaching is Plant Ecology, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Genetics, Bio-technology and Microbiology. The department has made a steady progress in all these areas. The department also ensures greater participation of the students in its academic activities. At presents 3 Assistant Professors with few supporting staffs are working in the department. The department has organized seminar, outreach programs and study tours.
